Can CBD Prevent A Hangover And Perhaps Even Cure It?

If you are reading this, you are probably hungover, looking for a cure and wondering what to do to prevent a hangover in the future. Can CBD prevent a hangover or cure one? Certainly not! But there are certain areas in which CBD may be able to help with hangovers and make them less painful and agonizing.

    Is CBD good for hangovers?

There are certain areas in which CBD may be able to help with hangovers and others where it will not. It’s therefore important to understand how various alcohol-related effects can be related to CBD and the human body.

Headaches, nausea, aches and pains are among the most common symptoms of a hangover.

    What causes the hangover?

At first, alcohol consumption causes a spike in your blood sugar and glucose, a simple sugar (or carbohydrate) that is the main form of energy for your body, circulates through our blood – hence the term, “blood sugar” – and it is regulated by two different hormones known as insulin and glucagon. When your blood sugar levels become too high under normal life circumstances, the pancreas can secrete insulin to lower glucose levels in the body. When you drink alcohol, however, it can inhibit glucose once the body begins to process and break down the alcohol you have consumed.

This could also be compounded in a couple of ways: one of the primary means of obtaining glucose is through the foods we eat, and it is common to either not eat while drinking, or eat foods that are lacking in actual sustenance. Alcohol may also affect your body’s normal secretion of insulin, further impacting its relationship with glucose and its ability to regulate itself.

    How CBD helps the body

While it does not have direct properties that will regulate your blood sugar, CBD can help regulate your endocannabinoid system. A better-regulated endocannabinoid system could facilitate conditions that help the body recover, bringing with it the potential to help with those awful hangover symptoms.

    Dehydration and CBD

If you are eliminating water and not replenishing it at an equal rate, what happens? Dehydration, that’s what. Alcohol dehydrates you on its own but neglecting to drink water while consuming alcohol can only increase the problem. You see, that guy that says he is “hydrating” with a light beer in between his other beverages is not really hydrating. Surely, you know this? If not, well, now you do.

CBD cannot counteract symptoms of dehydration, but just knowing that dehydration is one of the main causes of a hangover can enable you to take the steps necessary to either mitigate or downright prevent one by consuming as much, if not more, water than you do alcohol while drinking.

    Can CBD prevent hangovers?

Taking CBD as a one-off cannot directly prevent hangovers. But just because taking CBD oil is not going to make you immune from a hangover, or make one go away, doesn’t mean CBD is completely useless in this instance. Taking CBD regularly may contribute to a more balanced endocannabinoid system.

    Does CBD cure hangovers?

There are countless remedies claiming to cure a hangover, like this Bloody Mary Jane, but are any of them worthwhile? Just like with hangover prevention, CBD should not be relied upon as a spot treatment for hangovers. Yet, taking CBD regularly may help maintain the balancing properties of the body when its receptors are activated.

    Final thoughts

If you are looking into taking CBD for hangovers, or literally any other reason, make sure you are buying organic, third-party lab-tested CBD oil. The CBD market is unregulated, and a lot of products may not contain their advertised amount of CBD. Even worse, these products may contain harmful toxins that could actually cause headaches. Always make sure your CBD company can provide lab results from an independent source so that you can give your body what you intend to.

  • Make And Bake Bow Wow Brownies Like Snoop Dogg

Make And Bake Bow Wow Brownies Like Snoop Dogg

Borrowed straight out of rapper Snoop Dogg’s cookbook From Crook to Cook, these Bow Wow Brownies with a dash of ice cream and a splash of cannabis-infused chocolate sauce, are BOW and WOW worthy!

It’s unclear if this recipe is a shout out from Snoop to rapper Shad Moss, who goes by the name Bow Wow. Snoop gave Bow Wow his original stage name, Lil’ Bow Wow, after seeing him perform at a concert in 1993. He went on to appear on Snoop’s debut album  Doggystyle before eventually signing with Jermaine Dupri at So So Def. His 2000 single “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” also featured Snoop.

If recent rumours are anything to go by, these brownies might as well be a peace offering from one Dogg to another. Bow Wow hasn’t released a new studio album in over a decade but in early 2022, the rapper announced plans to reunite with Snoop Dogg and release his final album on Death Row Records, which was recently acquired by the hip-hop icon.

Can we get a bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay?!

  • Calm Things Down As You Heat Things Up With These Hot Sauces Infused With Cannabis

Calm Things Down As You Heat Things Up With These Hot Sauces Infused With Cannabis

Hot sauces infused with cannabis are a quick and simple way to add some extra flavour to your favourite foods. Even Snoop Dogg swears by it and admits to adding hot sauce to basically everything he makes and eats. Tacos with a soft touch, loaded Nachos, mash potatoes, Bow Wow Brownies… they’re all candidates.

Hot sauces infused with cannabis work pretty much the same way as a typical hot sauce, except you also get the calming, pain-reducing effects of cannabidiol, which—hey, synergy. There are so many health benefits to consuming chillies, so adding hemp seed oil is a great way to promote the healthy side of both ingredients.

Here are some cannabis-infused hot sauces that will calm you down as things get heated.

Johnny Hexburg CBD Infused Hot Sauce

The name of South Africa’s first full-spectrum CBD infused hot sauce was inspired by a 13-year-old and his fictional counterpart and imaginary friend, Johnny Hexburg. The non-psychoactive tangy hot sauce is made with South African grown chillies and hemp oil extracted from locally grown cannabis plants. The cannabis Sativa sauce comes in only one flavour, with a mild to medium heat which most people can bear. Put it on all things cheesy, like these cannabis fries.

Kodiak Creations Agave Widow Hot Sauce

Infused with moringa and white widow terpenes, this spicy hot sauce also contains agave tequila, fresh jalapeno and a dash of lemon juice. For those who don’t know, the White Widow strain has blessed every Dutch coffee shop menu since its birth in the 1990s.The Agava Widow Hot Sauce is made by Kodiak Creations, a micro-batch infusion company based in Cape Town, South Africa, which produces a line of CBD-laced seasonings and condiments. Add the Agava Widow Hot Sauce to your eggs in the morning or anything else that floats your slowboat.

    Cannabis THC-infused Sriracha tincture

This Cannabis Sriracha is a real Pho King Hot tincture! Produced by Washington State-based cannabis company Fairwinds, the THC-infused hot sauce isn’t affiliated with the popular Sriracha sauce brand. It contains a variety of spices, including ingredients made in-house, and 100mg of THC per package. The tincture is designed to be added to dishes like pho, ramen, or any other cuisines that could use some extra spice—with the added perk of getting you seriously stoned. Or take it to the next level and add it to sushi bakes.

Cannabis May Improve Female Orgasms, Studies Claim

Cannabis may improve female orgasms and ladies who love getting stoned are apparently scoring more than non-users, a couple of studies found. While beer goggles alter sex appeal, a dagga joint or CBD lube might just bring pleasure to places you and your lover never knew existed. Some lovers claim that cannabis enhanced sex can reduce anxiety, and improve orgasms and even stamina in bed.

Adding some weight to the topic, a study published in the peer-reviewed medical journal “The Journal of Sexual Medicine” found that 68% of women who used dagga before having sex reported finding it more enjoyable.

In another study involving 28 176 women and 22 943 men, researchers from Stanford University found dagga users to have 20% more sex than non-users.

Cannabis makes female orgasms more intense, concludes this study.

“Marijuana appears to improve satisfaction with orgasm,” said study leader Becky Lynn (MD).

The majority of women also perceived improvement in the overall experience, sex drive, and pain.

  • Cannabis Plant Anatomy – Up Close And Personal With Marijuana

Cannabis Plant Anatomy – Up Close And Personal With Marijuana

With a huge shift in the legalization of marijuana globally, we have seen the reefer receiving much-needed attention in recent years. With its slow pace legalization around the world scientists and Cannabisseurs alike have had their hand at developing products. Scientists are conducting research into exactly what cannabis is, what compounds it is made up of and how it affects different parts of our bodies. We investigate the anatomy of the cannabis plant.

As we become ever more conscious about the environment and our impact on the well being of mother earth, we must understand marijuana, the plant’s anatomy and how to best benefit from the Holy Herb.

The Anatomy of the Marijuana Plant, because there is more to it than to ‘pick out the seeds and stems’ as Afroman so blazingly riffs in Colt 45.

Cannabis plants are dioecious, meaning the male and female reproductive structures are in separate plants. Male plants produce pollen which fertilizes female flowers. Female plants carry the flowers which we smoke. The male counterparts have very few cannabinoids and are often removed to avoid them pollinating the female plants. Which would result in a smaller yield of not-so-dope dagga, due to the development of the seeds. Marijuana can be hermaphroditic, meaning it has both male and female reproductive structures. These plants are also not ideal when cultivating chronic, as they self-pollinate.

    Cannabis Plant Grow-Op

    ROOT

The root system is long and fibrous and is made up of a taproot and branching lateral roots. The roots are an essential part of the plant as it absorbs water which assists with transporting nutrients to the rest of the plant as well as storing excess nutrients for later use. Cannabis root has been used throughout history, it can be dried and powdered and is known to be high in alkaloids which can reduce fever, dysentery, gastric complaints as well as improve general health and well-being.

    Cannabis Plant Roots

    SEED

Where it all begins, the seeds carry the genetic information from the two parent plants. The cannabis seed is a tiny plant embryo that will germinate once it is exposed to the right amount of moisture (water) and temperature (sunlight).

    STEM

Other than offering the major structural support for the plant. The stem is also part of the main transportation system for nutrients and water. Very similar to a vascular system of tubes connecting the roots to the stalks and leaves.

    LEAF

One of the most iconic stoner symbols to date is the open hand-shaped leaves that have five, seven, nine or more serrated leaflets. The leaves use the process of photosynthesis to absorb carbon dioxide, water and the sun’s rays. This is then converted into oxygen and sugars; imperative as a source of energy to sustain the plant’s growth. The fan leaves shade the delicate buds and protects them from sunburn.

    Marijuana Leaf

    From here, we will look at ganja’s gender distinction;

    FLOWER

Before the flowers open, their shape determines the sex of the plant. If the unopened bud is shaped and coloured like a small yellow or green banana, the plant is male and won’t flower. Whereas the female’s unopened bud resembles a teardrop. Once the unfertilized female plants are matured the flowers consist of trichomes, pistilles and stamen.

    Marijuana Flower

    TRICHOMES

These mushroom-shaped glands take up the surface of the flowers (as well as the smaller leaves known as Sugar Leaves). The trichomes are responsible for secreting a resin that acts as a natural defence against disease and infection. They also offer protection from excessive heat and deters pests. The resin contains the highest amount of cannabinoids, like THC and CBD. Trichomes also produce and secrete terpenes, which gives spliff a seductive smell and tantalizing taste.

    Cannabis Flower Trichomes

    PISTILLES

These are the female reproductive structure, it resembles tiny hairs which point in all different directions, searching the surrounding atmosphere for pollen. The pistils change colour throughout the maturation process of the cannabis plant, they start white and turn orange, brown and even red.

    STAMEN

Pollen sacks make up the male reproductive structure. In hermaphroditic plants, both pistils and stamen are present. If you are not looking at collecting a bunch of seeds, for whatever reason. Ensure to weed out the menacing male plants along with the intersex ones.

I hope this breakdown proves useful in gaining a basic understanding of the anatomy of the cannabis plant. Marijuana research is still in its infancy, small discoveries lead to bigger and better ones. • How To Make Dagga Vodka, Aka Green Dragon

How To Make Dagga Vodka, Aka Green Dragon

Disclaimer: This recipe is intended for educational/entertainment purposes only. We’d also like to kindly remind you that any marijuana purchased and consumed should be done legally and is consumed at your own risk.

The Green Dragon ranks as one of the more elusive DIY methods of getting high. The cannabis tincture is a simple enough concept but the methods of creating this weed vodka vary depending on who you ask.

From throwing stems into a half-full bottle of Smirnoff and letting it soak for a few weeks to speeding up the process by heating it in an oven, the recipe for Green Dragon depends on who’s making it. Looking to find the most straightforward, stoner-friendly recipe, we went with the soak-and-wait route.

For the extract, use alcohol of at least 60 proof — Bacardi, Smirnoff, etc. We went for Everclear at 151 proof. When your tincture is ready, it should be pretty potent. You can either use an eyedropper and place one or two drops under your tongue or in a drink. The high should kick in after 1 hour and last for 7 hours.

We suggest enjoying Green Dragon with a healthy dose of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. But hey, we aren’t your mamas, you do you boo.
