Dopey Doughnut Holes Are Easy To Make, Delicious And The Perfect Edibles Snack For Anytime
Dopey doughnut holes are donut holes loaded with cannabis sugar and cannabis-infused coconut oil. They are bitesize balls of deliciously flavoured and deep-fried sweet dough, rolled in cannabis sugar and enjoyed while they are still a little bit warm.

Doughnuts
Doughnuts are a type of fried sweet dough confection. They are popular in many countries and prepared in various forms, they can be filled and almost always glazed. ‘Donut’ is a shortened Americanized word for ‘doughnut’ and is widely accepted in American and Canadian English. These delicious treats can be purchased at bakeries, supermarkets, food stalls and speciality vendors, BUT they are super easy to make.
One of the first times the word doughnut was mentioned was in the 1809 book; A History of New York, from the Begining of the World to the End of the Dutch Dynasty by Washington Irving. It eloquently defines the word; “[…] it was always sure to boast of an enormous dish of balls of sweetened dough, fried in hog’s fat, and called dough-nuts, or oly koeks: a delicious kind of cake, at present scarce known in this city, excepting in genuine Dutch families”.
There are many different types of doughnuts, they are usually fried, but can be baked. The dough is usually flour-based and contains water, leavening, eggs, milk, sugar, oil, shortening, and flavours. Although there are many different recipes, these basic ingredients are normally used in some ratio. Once cooked the doughnut can be glazed with sugar icing, spread with icing or chocolate or topped with powder sugar, cinnamon, sprinkles or fruits.
Shapes
Doughnuts are typically ring-shaped but they could be a number of different designs without a hole, these can be injected with fruit jams, custard or other flavoured sweet fillings. Ring doughnuts are formed in one of two ways. The first method is by joining the ends of a long skinny piece of dough into a ring. The second technique cuts the out- and in-side shapes at the same time, naturally forming doughnut holes. Alternatively, a doughnut depositor places a circle of batter or liquid dough into the fryer
Proudly South African
In South Africa, we have a variation called the Koeksister which is an Afrikaner braided confectionery soaked in honey or syrup. Also, the more traditionally shaped doughnut; the Cape Malay Koesister which is soaked in spiced syrup and coated in coconut.

Cold Cannabis Coffee A DIY Recipe To Get You Up and Keep You Going
Cannabis and coffee are popular across the globe! Some of us rely on the ever-faithful wake-and-bake to get us out of bed, while others prefer caffeine to get going. Although not much study has been done in the field it is thought that caffeine could prolong the effects of cannabis, more specifically of the psychoactive THC. Cold Cannabis Coffee is a delicious motivation to get up, and keep going!
Caffeine and cannabis are both responsible for the happy-hormone Dopamine. A study published during 2017 in the journal Annals of Neuroscience, suggests combining the two could create an increased sense of euphoria for some consumers. One fact we do know for sure, cannabis affects everyone differently. Each person’s endocannabinoid system is about as unique as the impression left by their fingerprints.
Smoking vs Ingesting
When smoking cannabis it enters the bloodstream fairly quickly, whereas the liver is largely responsible for metabolizing the compounds in the holy ‘erb. Pretty much the same happens when consuming caffeine, which might pose a potential risk to liver health.
Iced coffee is a type of coffee beverage served chilled. It is normally made from hot brew coffee which has been cooled by pouring it over ice or into ice-cold milk. Sweeteners and flavouring are often added into the hot coffee before cooling it, because they dissolve easier in hot liquid. The coffee base is generally brewed at a higher strength, due to the dilution caused when pouring the hot coffee over the ice.
The first documented iced coffee was known as Mazagran, prepared with coffee syrup and cold water. It was referred to as ‘the original iced coffee’ by Algerians in the 1840s. It was first popularized in the 1920s in the United States by the Joint Coffee Trade Publicity Committee (JCTPC) and later marketed by chain outlets like Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks.
Iced coffee has been popular across the globe for some time now and, as with most things, each culture has put its unique stamp on versions of this refreshing libation. The Portuguese serve theirs with lemon, and rum on celebratory occasions. During the summer months in Chile, they serve Cafe Helado, which is made with strong coffee, ice cream and dulce de leche topped with whipped cream and nuts
With a rise of infused coffee products, the development of cannabis edibles and the increased effort for global legalization; a marriage between caffeine and cannabis was inevitable. Here is our version of an easy-to-make Cold Cannabis Coffee favoured with Stoner Chocolate Sauce and Cannabis-infused Coconut oil. This chilled beverage is sure to get you up and keep you going!

We Honour Mary Jane With Her Own Version Of A Classic: Mary Jane’s Old Fashioned
“I’m in love with a plain old-fashion girl, she’s the most beautiful person in the world, her smile is so warm and her eyes burn so deep,” The Commodores’ 1980 Old Fashioned Love fills the spaces between the smoke trail left by Mary Jane. We Honour Mary Jane with her very own version of one of the worlds oldest assembled elixir: Mary Jane’s Old Fashioned.

The term ‘Mary Jane’ was first printed in Time magazine in the 1930s. It is believed to have been derived from the Mexican-Spanish word ‘marijuana’ which means; the weed that intoxicates. When breaking marijuana into two words, it forms two traditional Spanish names; Maria and Juana. Mary Jane is rumoured to be the English adaption of these names.
The Classic Old Fashioned
The Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail made by muddling sugar with bitters and water, adding whisk(e)y or rye, expressing orange zest over the drink before dropping it in the glass alongside a cocktail cherry. The old-timey potion is recognised as an IBA official cocktail, listed as one of the six basic drinks in David A. Embury’s The Fine Art Of Mixing Drinks.
The first written account defining the word cocktail was published in Hudson, New York on 13 May 1806. The editor of The Balance and Columbian Repository wrote that it was a potent concoction of spirits, bitters, water and sugar. It was in response to a reader’s letter the week before, asking for the word to be defined. Basically description the version of the Old Fashioned we have come to love and adore.
On January 1, 1936; The New York Times published an article containing cocktail recipes written by a man who was reflecting on the years following the end of prohibition.
“Consider, for instance, the Old-Fashioned cocktail. Time was when the affable and sympathetic bartender moistened a lump of sugar with Angostura bitter, dropped in a lump of ice, neither too large or too small, stuck in a miniature bar spoon and passed the glass to the client with a bottle of good bourbon from which said client was privileged to pour his own drink.”
Mary Jane’s Old Fashioned
A toast in honour of the lady of cannabis, here it is; Mary Jane’s Old Fashioned! We opted to use a stoner staple: cannabis sugar. You could make an alcohol extract by leaving ~15g ground-up cannabis flower in a bottle of whisk(e)y for any amount of time ranging from three to thirty days.

Cannabis affects everyone’s endocannabinoid system differently, more so when adding booze to the mix. Our golden rule; go low and go slow! Wait at least 45 minutes between medicated beverages.
The amount of cannabis in each of these cocktails are slightly adjustable allowing flexibility in terms of the potency of your elixir.
